Invited review: Cytochrome P450 enzyme involvement in health and inflammatory-based diseases of dairy cattle

چکیده
Dairy cattle are at the greatest risk of developing diseases around time calving because compromised immune responses and occurrence oxidative stress. Both development immunity stress influenced directly or indirectly by metabolism polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) fat-soluble vitamins. The cytochrome P450 (CYP450) family enzymes is central to both classes these compounds, but date, importance CYP450 in health dairy underappreciated. As certain isoforms metabolize PUFA vitamins, potential interactions may occur between vitamins that largely unexplored. For example, one generates anti-inflammatory oxylipids from arachidonic acid additionally contributes activation vitamin D. Other substrate A E exist as well. intersection suggest this enzyme system could provide an understanding how function oxidant status interconnect, resulting increased postpartum disease occurrence. This review will detail known contributions bovine regulation with a focus on also be involved A, D, contribute antioxidant defenses. Although activity specific generally conserved among mammals, important differences cattle, such primarily responsible for D makes their study great importance. Additionally, CYP450-driven inflammatory positive feedback loop proposed, which dysfunctional commonly found during transition period. Establishing individual isoform oxylipid biosynthesis reveal can affect times susceptibility disease. Determining effect each pathogenesis allow targeted manipulation pathways influence defenses disorders.

Invited review: Changes in the dairy industry affecting dairy cattle health and welfare.
The dairy industry in the developed world has undergone profound changes over recent decades. In this paper, we present an overview of some of the most important recent changes in the dairy industry that affect health and welfare of dairy cows, as well as the science associated with these changes. Additionally, knowledge gaps are identified where research is needed to guide the dairy industry t...
متن کاملInvited review: Genomic selection in dairy cattle: progress and challenges.
A new technology called genomic selection is revolutionizing dairy cattle breeding. Genomic selection refers to selection decisions based on genomic breeding values (GEBV). The GEBV are calculated as the sum of the effects of dense genetic markers, or haplotypes of these markers, across the entire genome, thereby potentially capturing all the quantitative trait loci (QTL) that contribute to var...

This study was designed to evaluate serum and milk haptoglobin (Hp) as an inflammatory indicators for the diagnosis of diseases in cattle in Fars province of Iran. Blood samples were collected from the coccygeal vein of 20 clinically healthy cattle and 100 cows with various inflammatory diseases. There were significant differences in serum and milk Hp between clinically healthy cattle and disea...

This study was designed to evaluate serum and milk amyloid A (SAA) as an inflammatory indicator in inflammatory diseases. Twenty clinically healthy cows and 100 cows with various inflammatory diseases were selected for this study. Blood samples were collected from the coccygeal vein of both healthy and diseased groups. Milk samples were taken from four quarters of both groups. Milk samples of f...
متن کاملInvited review: The welfare of dairy cattle--key concepts and the role of science.
Concerns about the welfare of animals typically include 3 questions: is the animal functioning well (e.g., good health, productivity, etc.), is the animal feeling well (e.g., absence of pain, etc.), and is the animal able to live according to its nature (e.g., perform natural behaviors that are thought to be important to it, such as grazing)? We review examples, primarily from our own research,...
